Keep your job. Multiply it. The AI person on a team is the one who picked a painful task, put a gate on it, and can show minutes saved. Titles follow proof. They rarely precede it.
Own · measure · show
Own: your name is on the prompt and the gate. Measure: before and after for two weeks. Show: a quiet note in standup, then a paragraph on the internal wiki. Visibility without theatre.
Teach the next person
If only you can run the loop, you built a bottleneck, not an OS. Pair for one hour. Hand them the prompt. Watch them pass a gate. That is how the team keeps the gain when you go on leave.
Worked example
Priya, still an analyst
Priya did not become Head of AI. She owned the weekly report, cut it from 90 minutes to 20 with a gate, wrote the prompt in the wiki, and trained one teammate. Six months later the title caught up. The proof was already there.
